Samsung has today issued a press release which officially unveils the white version of their popular Galaxy S II. This announcement has been widely expected for awhile already, thus it is not a big surprise. The major specs will be the same as the black version's.

Evidently, the white version will launch in Korea today but global availability is unknown at the moment. Phonesreview.co.uk is claiming September 1st availability in the UK, so global launch should take place within a month or so.

Way to go... You'll beat that "slavishly copying" accusation yet, Samsung.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but in reality, they're nothing alike.

They don't even look and feel similar side-by-side in your hands.

Maybe with a little photoshop work that'll get fixed lol.

That or it's easier to pain plastic white...
Or maybe this one will turn yellow after a while, if I am not mistaken that's the biggest problem Apple had.

How about you release one in the US first? I kept postponing my upgrade waiting for this thing to be released here with all sorts of false promises on when it would, and by the time it does (supposedly this month..) it's no longer going to be the cutting edge phone it was.

The politics of carrier subsidies really screws things up.

Sell your current phone and buy an unlocked one outright. Figure out the coverage/warranty situation first though.
